In the frozen yogurt franchise’s second appearance, hit CBS show turns the tables and sends employees undercover instead of CEO

Menchie’s is getting a second turn in the spotlight on a special episode of “Undercover Boss” this Friday, March 7, which airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT. While the traditional “Undercover Boss” format sends out a CEO in disguise to find out what really goes on in their company, the upcoming show takes a different tack. Friday night’s episode features Menchie’s frozen yogurt franchise and two other companies sending employees undercover to work with in their location.

In the episode of “Undercover Boss” that aired last October, our CEO, Amit Kleinberger, donned a wig and a ball cap so he would go undetected as he posed as a worker in two of our franchise stores and at the family-owned California dairy where we source the milk for our yogurt. The upcoming episode should prove to be just as exciting. The show will feature three CEOs who have previously appeared “Undercover Boss.” In addition to Amit, PostNet CEO Steve Greenbaum and Twin Peaks CEO Randy Dewitt send their employees undercover to find out what things are really like inside their franchise operations.

“Undercover Boss” is an Emmy Award-winning reality series that typically follows high-level corporate executives as they slip anonymously into the rank-and-file of their own companies. Each week, a different executive leaves the comfort of the corner office for an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of a corporation.

While he can’t discuss episode specifics, “My previous experience on the show gave me a chance to learn some surprising things as I worked side by side with the people at the very heart of our brand,” Amit says. “I think viewers will find the new episode of ‘Undercover Boss’ to be just as exciting and just as illuminating about what our brand really stands for.”

One face might be familiar to viewers: Jennifer Lutz, the sweet, always-smiling team member from one of our Menchie’s locations in El Paso. She was featured in the Oct. 25, 2013, episode, and she’ll play an interesting role in Friday’s show. We hope you’ll watch!
